Islamic Azad University is an institution that encourages the intellectual and personal growth of its students as scholars and citizens.

According to an ISCA report, in order to maintain an environment where the university's goals can be achieved safely and equitably, Islamic Azad University promotes civility, respect and integrity among all members of the community.

The purposes of the Student Disciplinary Regulations are to set forth the specific authority and responsibility of the university in maintaining social discipline, to establish guidelines that facilitate a just and civil campus community, and to outline the educational process for determining student and student/campus organization responsibility for alleged violations of university regulations.

In order to observe students’ rights in addressing their violations and to create unify procedures in addressing students’ violations in disciplinary councils, several principles are ruling.

In fact, only those students’ behaviors are considered as violations which are mentioned by disciplinary regulations based on Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution approvals. Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution specifies students and professors’ policies and regulations, reviews provisions of the executive regulations and modifies them, determines members of these delegations, approves introduced representatives and sends information to the relevant ministry.

Based on the rules, punishments cannot be expected beyond those mentioned in the regulations. According to University regulations, each person whose registration has been completed will be considered a student of the University during the term for which he or she is registered unless the student's connection with the University is officially severed by withdrawal or otherwise.
