IAU Graduate Schools to Complete Higher Education

The president of Islamic Azad University has stated that certificate is essential for entering graduate schools.

In his interview with ISCA News Agency, Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi said that Islamic Azad University is planning to run graduate schools in order to improve students’ skills and remove “Credentialism”, a concept which is the reduction of qualifications to status conferring pieces of paper.

He explained that with so many people obtaining degree qualifications there are concerns that academic credentials are losing meaning and value. Lacking in practical skills is considered as a great problem of students so almost 40% of graduates are unemployment.

Dr. Tehranchi emphasized that having academic degree has been an essential factor for students to entering the graduate schools and complete their higher education level.

Graduate school constitutes an advanced program of study focused on a particular academic discipline or profession. Traditionally, graduate school has been "academic" (centered on generating original research in a particular discipline), but it may be "professional" (centered on developing skills and knowledge for a specific profession), or a combination of both.
