Syria is Ready to Launch Mutual Research Centers

Syria’s Minister of Higher Education has stated that both countries have common goals, destinies and strong political relations so besides exchanging students, he hoped for creating mutual research centers.

According to IAU public relations, in a two-day visit of IAU academic delegation from Syria, Bassam Bashir Ibrahim said that Islamic Republic of Iran has offered scholarships in the field of technical and engineering majors to Syrian students and hoped for adding medical sciences’ as well.

Bassam Bashir Ibrahim also expressed his satisfaction over the MoU signed by IAU President Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi in order to contribute in boosting academic cooperation between both countries and emphasized on developing research, scientific and educational cooperation.

The head of Damascus University, M. Maher Kabakibi also noted that the university is one of the oldest and largest universities in the Middle East and many Syrian elites and leader completed their education in this university.

Iranian Islamic Azad University (IAU) penned on Saturday a memorandum of understanding with Damascus University. Under the deal, the two Iranian and Syrian universities will contribute in boosting academic cooperation between their countries. Both Iran and Syria, through the agreement, will have the opportunity to strengthen their relations on educational and academic levels.
