University of Belgrade Opnes Persian Studies Center

University of Belgrade in the Serbian capital opened a Persian studies center.

According to the Persian service of IRNA, the opening ceremony has been held with the presence of the head of the Faculty of Philology at the University of Belgrade, Ljiljana Markovic, and Iranian Ambassador Hossein Molla-Abdollahi.

Molla-Abdollahi expressed his thanks to Markovic for her cooperation in establishing the center and praised the officials of the university for their interest in Persian culture and literature.

He also said that the center will function as a favorite haunt of students, professors and Persian language aficionados, as well as a place for periodic cultural and academic meetings.

The establishment of the center is an outcome of a memorandum of understanding signed between Markovic and officials of the foundation.
