Chinese Students Traveling to Iran to Carry Out Islamic Researches

Vice President ofshanghai Lexicographical Publishing House has stated that Islam is one of the two important culture in China.

In his interview with ISCA News Agency, Peng Jiangjie, Vice President ofshanghai Lexicographical Publishing House stated that
they have imported some books to take part in Tehran International Book Fair and introduce Chinese culture to Iranian community.

As China is the special guest of the exhibition this year, he explained that Iranian publishers are more interested in books on Chinese language learning and literature, "and for us we wanted some contents in Iranian history and modern society and culture."


"I think there is some similarities in both countries in the field of history and human development. Islamic culture is one of the two important culture in China and there are many people who believe in Islam as in Xinjiang and Ningxia provinces, also there are some research centers in universities that provice Islamic courses to students," he countinued.

He noted that "college students who are interested in Islam, usually travel to iran for more study. Then they return to China to do more researches on Islam and to teach Islamic culture to students."

The 32nd Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) kicked off on Tuesday at the Mosalla exhibition center in the Iranian capital Tehran, with China as guest of honor.
