IAU Karatekas Win Medals at Karate 1-Premier League

Karate practitioners of Islamic Azad University could win 3 medals in the 2019 Karate 1 - Premier League in Shanghai, China.

According to an ISCA report, Sajjad Ganjzadeh defeated his countryman Saleh Abazari in the final match of Male Kumite +84kg, stood on the first place and received a gold medal.

Bahman Askari also won Iran’s third silver after losing to Dastonbek Otabolaev from Uzbekistan 1-0 in the final match of the Male Kumite -75kg.

In the Male Kumite -84kg, Mehdi Khodabakhshi defeated his countryman Zabihollah Poorshab 5-0 and claimed a bronze medal.

543 karate fighters from 76 different countries participated in the fourth event of karate 1-Premier League, from June 7 to 9, in Shanghai, China.

The 2020 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXII Olympiad and commonly known as Tokyo 2020, is an upcoming international multi-sport event that is scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020 in Tokyo, Japan.
