Localizing and Valuing the Humanities among IAU Most Important Programs

The president of Islamic Azad University has stated that localizing and valuing the humanities are among the most important plans of the university in the current year.

According to an ISCA report, on the sidelines of the IAU 37th edition of founding anniversary, Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi declared that the country and Islamic Revolution have entered their “Second Phase”, so due to the university’s evolution in management system, Islamic Azad University has considered “Second Step” in order to move toward the “Second Phase of the Revolution” statement addressed to the Iranian nation.

Dr. Tehranchi added that four research, education, skill and technology spatial planning have been considered and due to the importance of urban economics, the university can pave the way for creating knowledge-based employment. He declared that in the field of education, we analyzed cities to find out more about their base of economies to train students in accordance with the economy of that city.

The IAU president spoke of the importance of the humanities and noted that localizing and valuing the humanities are among the most important plans of the university. He continued that academic researches must be targeted therefore, “Azad Payesh Plan” which is referring to an Effective Unified Research Network, was launched.

Dr. Tehranchi also mentioned the importance of skills-based education and said that graduate schools are going to be run all across the country in various majors to focus on a particular academic discipline or profession. He finally emphasized on technology and innovation which is specifically followed by the university Research and Technology Deputy.

The 37th edition of IAU founding anniversary has been held with the theme of “Islamic Azad University, Second Phase of the Islamic Revolution” at IAU Central Organization, in June 12, 2019.
