Karaj SAMA IAU Student Wins Gold at Asian Junior Taekwondo C’ships

Yalda Valinejad, student of Islamic Azad University, Karaj SAMA Organization, snatched gold medal at the 10th Asian Junior Taekwondo Championships.

According to an ISCA report, Yalda Valinejad, a taekwondo practitioner who competes internationally for Iran, won her Korean rival with the result of 9-10 in the first round.

In semifinal, she could beat Uzbekistan representative (14-12). Valinejad grabbed gold in the minus 63 kg category after defeating her opponent (8-4) from Jordan in the final.

A total of 385 athletes of 31 countries competed in the 10th edition of Asian Junior Taekwondo Championships, which was held at the Princess Hamza Hall in Amman, Jordan.

The Iranian delegation claimed ten gold, six silver and one bronze medal in the competition and won the title with 179 points.
