Iranian Students Win Colorful Medal at IOI 2019

The national team of Islamic Republic of Iran won 1 gold and 3 silver medals and stood on the 4th position in the 31st International Olympiad of Informatics (IOI), held in BAKU, Azerbaijan.

According to an ISCA report, the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) is an annual international informatics competition for high school students from various invited countries, accompanied by social and cultural programs.

Almost 600 students, teachers and experts from 88 countries competed in this scientific event on August 5 – 10 and the Iranian team, headed by Dr. Mohammad Ali Abam Tehran, could stand on the 4th position through gaining 1 gold, Mehdi Jafari Raviz, and 3 silver medals by Arshia Soltani Movakher, Mehrshad Mirmohammadi and Kasra Mazaheri in this tournament.

The next round of the IOI, which aims to discover, encourage, bring together, challenge, and give recognition to young people who are exceptionally talented in the field of informatics, is slated to be held in Singapore on July 19-26, 2020.
