Native Humanities is Based on Islamic-Iranian Culture: Dr. Velayati

The head of Islamic Azad University board of founders and trustees has considered Islamic-Iranian culture as the main factor of native humanities.

In his interview with ISCA News Agency, Dr. Ali Akbar Velayati stated that the science of native humanities is based on Islamic-Iranian culture and if Islamic Azad University acts well in this field, it can be an acceptable and a proper pattern for the country’s higher education system.

As he said, using Islamic and Iranian sources is one of the essentials of the humanities’ evolution and hoped for great steps to be taken in this university for transforming and localizing the science of humanities.

Dr. Velayati added that humanities can be originated from thereligious and cultural teachings, so it can be useful for Muslims and Iranian society as well.

The head of IAU board of founders and trustees finally exampled Abu Ali Sina, Nasir al-Din Tusi, Mulla Sadra, Mir Mohammad Baqer Esterabadi and many other scientists, who did fundamental actions in the field of humanities, and declared that “definitely, the origination of humanities had been in East more than West.”
