Iran Medical Tourism to be Increased Significantly in 2020

Deputy Minister of Health and Medical Education of Iran stated that 150 hospitals as well as 50 tourism facilitation companies have received legal permission which will play significant role in increasing medical tourism in Iran in 2020.

According to an ISCA report, during Iran-Afghanistan Health Tourism Development Summit, held in Persian Azadi Hotel in Tehran, Dr. Mohsen Asadi-Lari declared that the number of medical tourists in Iran is increasing.

He named the nationals of neighboring countries, including Iraq, Afghanistan and northern neighbors as the most of the health tourists in Iran, even patients from North Africa and Europe travel to Iran for healthcare services.

As Dr. Asadi-Lari said, Iran has been successful to uphold rank 16th in the world in science production and the first rank in the region.

Also ambassador of Afghanistan to Iran declared that both Iran and Afghanistan nations have much in common and due to the Iran’s wonderful achievements in the field of medical sciences, “we are very interested in developing cooperation in this area with Iran.”
