Iranian Scientists Develop Paracycling System for People with Spinal Cord Injury

Scientists from Iran University of Science and Technology have developed neuromotor prosthesis, Paracycling System, as an assistive device that restores functions lost as a result of neural damage.

According to an ISCA report, "Paracycling System" has been created with the support of Presidential Deputy for Science and Technology in Iran Neural Technology Center of Iran University of Science and Technology.

The system helps people with spinal cord injuries use their muscles by neuromuscular stimulation; it also prevents diseases such as osteoporosis, bed wounds, kidney and bladder infections, cardiovascular failures and etc.

Iranian scientists have taken major steps in the development of neurology and neuro sciences and this national macro-project is now ready to enter the market.
