Iran Unveils Domestic ALS Medicine

Iranian researchers have unveiled the Iranian made amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) medicine which will reduce treatment costs from currently $47,000 to $5,000 per patient annually.

According to an ISCA report, some 2,000 people in Iran are suffering from the disease so two Iranian knowledge based companies could produce ALS medicine which reduces the treatment costs by up to 18 billion rials (nearly $42,000).

ALS is a specific disease that causes the death of neurons controlling voluntary muscles, which is characterized by stiff muscles, muscle twitching, and gradually worsening weakness due to muscles decreasing in size.
