Iran Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stated that threatening Iran’s cultural sites by the U.S. president is the sign of international ‘cultural terrorism’.

According to an ISCA report, during the local conference on preservation of cultural centers and common human heritage, Mohammad Javad Zarif declared that historically and geographically, cultural heritage sites and monuments belong to one nation, but due to their important role in “human identity recognition”, they belong to everyone, therefore the concept of “Common Heritage of Mankind” becomes very meaningful.

He noted that the U.S. President Donald Trump’s military threats against Iran, stems from his hatred of culture, civilization, and anything that expresses peace and stability.

“The ISIL terrorists destroyed the cultural heritage of Iraq and Syria in 2014 and 2015. Now, Donald Trump, in a gross violation of the UN Charter, not only threatens Iran with an armed attack, but also publicly speaks of an attack on Iranian historical and cultural sites,” Zarif added.

He finally declared that as the heir of one of the ancient civilizations, Islamic Republic of Iran is a pioneer in cultural interaction and dialogue of civilizations in order to provide a situation for the next generation to take advantages of dynamics and cultural interaction, also the current generation never faces to the scourge of extremism, terror and violence.
