Iranian Researchers Can Diagnose Cancer Tumor During Surgery

Iranian researchers have designed and created a unique device which can detect cancerous tissue during surgery.

According to an ISCA report, Hani Shahshahani, CEO of an Iranian knowledge-based firm, said that there have been many various cancer diagnosis devices all around the world, but this unique device has been designed and created domestically which has no foreign equal samples.

Surgery remains one of the primary diagnostic and treatment strategies for cancer. It aims to detect and remove cancerous tissue and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the body, in this regard, he explained that the device is highly accurate in detecting cancer during surgery.

The device has been tested on 150 patients which 97% of the diagnoses were correct. As he declared, the device was created in University of Tehran, Faculty of Engineering.
