The head of Najafabad Islamic Azad University Small Microgrid Research Center has stated that the center’s main target, especially in the field of renewable energies”, is monitoring consumers’ power quality in power distribution network as well as creating advanced laboratory equipment.

According to an ISCA report, Mohammad Reza Yousefi stated that almost five small-scale solar power stations has been installed and run so far, three contracts of creating advanced laboratory equipment were signed as well.

He noted that achieving the latest technologies in the field of smart networks in line with the country’s 20-Year National Vision (for the dawn of the Solar Calendar Year 1404 [2025 C.E.]) as well as predicting and protecting the country’s against national and international threats are some goals of this research center.

The center’s another action is increasing national and international group workings for the country’s scientific improvement through publishing articles in international journals and conferences, he declared.

A microgrid is a small-scale power production and delivery system comprising distributed generation facilities co-located with the loads they serve. Microgrids encompass multiple types of energy generation resources, storage systems, and efficiency programs, allowing for optimal utilization of renewable energy resources and facilitating advanced energy management, demand response, and load reduction solutions.
