IAU Branches Cooperating with National Committee for Fighting & Controlling COVID-19

Following the Iran responsible officials' demand for combating with the epidemic of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus, IAU president, Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi has announced that the university branches all across the country must cooperate with National Committee for Fighting and Controlling COVID-19.

According to an ISCA report, based on the recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics, Islamic Azad University will collaborate with National Committee for Fighting and Controlling COVID-19 with all of its capacities and facilities.

This is while many IAU branches in all cross the country have acted, as it has been called by the Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei, " fire at will" (atash-be-ekhtiar) - which is his advice to revolutionary students and professors to play their role - and allocate their dorms, sport halls and etc., to COVID-19 patients.

In this regard, it has been decided that in some provinces, National Committee for Fighting and Controlling COVID-19 can use 100% capacity of sport halls. As an example, Mashhad IAU announced its readiness to fully equip SAMA sport complex in this province.

Dr. Tehranchi also declared that Abhar IAU dorm has been prepared for convalescence of coronavirus patients, and also in Isfahan, interns, students of clinical training and senior nursing students have volunteered to help battle COVID-19.
