Robot Waiters

Engineers of Amirkabir University of Technology have designed and made intelligent waiter robots capable of interacting with humans in restaurants.

According to an ISCA report, a Robotics graduate from Amirkabir University of Technology and one of the researchers of this plan, stated that some of the built robots, with artificial auditory system, will present services in the robotic complex.

Esmaeil Mehrabi noted that the robots can easily interact with humans and speak several languages including Persian and English.

As he said, the process of taking orders at the robotic complex will be done via modern technology in the sense that customers will give orders by using tablets on the tables and even pay the bills online.

Noting the existence of robotic fast food restaurants in China, Singapore, Malaysia, UK, US and a number of other countries, Mehrabi said that the majority of foreign-built robots move on specific, predetermined lines and have no interaction with humans. Our robots, however, choose the best route to move based on intelligent algorithms.
