Iranian COVID-19 Vaccine to Initiate Human Trials

The chancellor of Iran University of Medical Sciences has announced on starting human trials for COVID-19 vaccines soon.


In his interview with IRNA, Jalil Koohpayehzadeh stated that the vaccine has different types; some made from killed viruses and some others from recombinant virus.

The vaccine will enter the clinical trial in the next one or two months, he noted, adding, if this step is done successfully, the vaccine will be mass-produced.

He predicted that Iran will be able to obtain internationally-approved vaccine samples by autumn or early winter.
