Iranian Researcher Creates Kit for Detection of Influenza A, B and SARS-CoV-2

An Iranian researcher from Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences has designed and created multiplex real-time PCR Kit for Detection of Influenza A, B and SARS-CoV-2.

According to an ISCA report, Hamed Gouklani, PhD graduate in Medical Virology, also professor assistant in Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences, produced multiplex real-time PCR Kit for Detection of Influenza A, B and SARS-CoV-2.

In this regard, Dr. Hossein Farshidi, head of Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences and Health Services, stated that the kit can be applied in universities, research centers and both public and private diagnostic laboratories.

As he noted, the multiplex real-time PCR kit, which right now is under the quality control process, can detect influenza viruses A and B and SARS-CoV-2 simultaneously.

The project was found to be in accordance to the ethical principles and the national norms and standards for conducting Medical Research in Iran.

Although the proposal has been approved by the research ethics committee, meeting the professional and legal requirements is the sole responsibility of the PI and other project collaborators.
